VW Obituary

I totaled my VW near Lake Placid, NY, while returning from a winter mountain climb and carrying four passengers and gear.  Nobody was seriously hurt, except possibly my ego.  This was my first at-fault accident.

We logged 63k+ trouble-free miles, crossed the country 1.5x times, and the VW came to be known as the “car of the outdoor renaissance.”  Pictured here at Caprock Canyons State Park in Texas en route to the west coast and eventually New York.
